Marwa, a Mathematics and Chemistry teacher at Komotobo Secondary school in Migori County, was approached by a Journalist posing as a Ghanaian football official during the African National Championship.

Victor Moses scores as Chelsea thrash EPL champions Leicester City 3-0
Nigeria's Victor Moses showed how much he's improved this season under new coach Antonio Conte as his goal combined with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa's goals were enough to slice apart English premier League defending champions Leicester City.
Diego Costa opened the scoring in the 7th minute and paid tribute to teammate Willian whose mum died of cancer during the week before Eden Hazard, flourishing in a No.10 role, rounded Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel in the 32nd minute to score. Nigeria International Victor Moses continued his rich vein of form as he scored in the 80th minute to rub salt on Leicester's 'psychological' injury as Claudio Ranieri made a big tactical error leaving star player and PFA player of the year Riyad Mahrez out of the starting line up. Leicester city's former player Kante was a thorn in the flesh today against his former side and it will take more than a miracle to restore Leicester's ailing and 'failing by the day' premier league title defence.

Confidential medical files of Serena Williams, Simone Biles other female US Olympians leaked by Russian hackers
Confidential medical data of gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles, seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams and basketball player Elena Delle Donne was hacked from a World Anti-Doping Agency database and posted online on Tuesday.
The Russian cyber espionage group called Fancy Bear published records of "Therapeutic Use Exemptions" (TUEs), which allow athletes to use otherwise-banned substances if they have a verified medical reason to do so, the Independent reports.
Williams, who revealed in 2011 she had been diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome, an energy-sapping disease, issued a statement via her agent in which she said she was granted TUEs "when serious medical conditions have occurred," and those exemptions were "reviewed by an anonymous, independent group of doctors, and approved for legitimate medical reasons."
"I was disappointed to learn today that my private, medical data has been compromised by hackers and published without my permission," Williams said. "I have followed the rules established under the Tennis Anti-Doping Program in applying for, and being granted, 'therapeutic use exemption.'" Women's basketball gold medalist Elena Delle Donne, who had thumb surgery on Tuesday and posted a post-op pic on Twitter, along with a statement saying she takes prescribed medication approved by WADA.
In a statement, USA Gymnastics said Biles — who won five medals, four gold, in Rio last month — was approved for an exemption and had not broken any rules. She wrote on Twitter that she's taken medication to treat ADHD since she was a child.
"Please know I believe in clean sport, have always followed the rules, and will continue to do so as fair play is critical to sport and is very important to me," Biles posted. Fancy Bear claimed the "therapeutic use of exemptions" constituted evidence of doping US Olympians.
"After detailed studying of the hacked Wada databases we figured out that dozens of American athletes had tested positive" a statement from the group reads. "The RIO Olympic medallists regularly used illicit strong drugs justified by certificates of approval for therapeutic use. In other words, they just got their licenses for doping."WADA previously warned of cyber attacks after investigators it had appointed published reports into Russian state-sponsored doping.
World Anti-Doping Agency director general Olivier Niggli said in a statement that it was "unthinkable for hackers to illegally obtain confidential medical information in an attempt to smear athletes to make it look as if they have done something wrong.
In fact, in each of the situations, the athlete has done everything right in adhering to the global rules for obtaining permission to use a needed medication."
He added:
"These criminal acts are greatly compromising the effort by the global anti-doping community to re-establish trust in Russia,"WADA said "extended its investigation with the relevant law enforcement authorities."
Last month, hackers obtained a database password for Russian runner Yuliya Stepanova, a whistleblower and key witness for the WADA investigations. She and her husband, a former official with the Russian national anti-doping agency, are now living at an undisclosed location in North America.
A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected WADA's statement blaming Russian hackers as unfounded.
"There can be no talk about any official or government involvement, any involvement of Russian agencies in those actions. It's absolutely out of the question," spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement carried by Russian news agencies. "Such unfounded accusations don't befit any organization, if they aren't backed by substance." The International Olympic Committee said it "strongly condemns such methods which clearly aim at tarnishing the reputation of clean athletes."
"The IOC can confirm however that the athletes mentioned did not violate any anti-doping rules during the Olympic Games Rio 2016," the Olympic body said. The top American anti-doping official said it was "unthinkable" to try to smear athletes who followed the rules and did nothing wrong.
"The cyberbullying of innocent athletes being engaged in by these hackers is cowardly and despicable," said Travis Tygart, CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. The agency said it believed the hack was carried out using spear-phishing emails to gather passwords for the WADA Anti-Doping and Management System(ADAMS) database.

Sport Minister Dalung blasts journalists who do defamatory stories about him, tells writers 'quote me right'
Minister of Sports Barrister Solomon Dalung has blasted journalists who write unconfirmed, unverified and defamatory stories about him, urging them to desist from such acts. Dalung, on a Facebook post titled 'Quote me Right' denied granting an interview to Brila FM where he was reported by some media houses to have said Athletes don't need much training to succeed at the Olympics and challenged sports writers to quote him right...
"The last interview I granted was at the flag-off of the NCC Tennis league at the Abuja National Stadium. I was asked to compare the performance of Nigerian athletes at the just concluded Olympics and the ongoing Paralympics and I said that the performance of Nigerian athletes at the Paralympic Games has established the fact that apart from the right training there was also need for the determination to excel.' He wrote on his Official Facebook page
'I said that they all trained under the same conditions like the Olympic athletes. That, apart from not having adequate preparations, what then can we attribute to the performance of the Paralympic athletes who have done so well at the Games'
'That, if their argument was lack of good training, the Paralympic athletes went through the same. In fact they trained here in Nigeria and I asked what was the secret?' This was what I said to the journalists who were at the stadium for the tennis event" .
According to the Minister, defamatory stories were capable of bringing people to public ridicule .
"We need to go back and do a proper X-Ray of the two circumstances to be able to make the best of of a bad bargain because the poor preparation was created due to paucity of funds, but the Paralympic athletes are making Nigerians proud here in Rio".
"The current economic recession has a relationship with the manner public affairs was managed in the past. We are not making any excuses for our inadequacies but we will definitely place the yearnings and aspirations of our people dutifully as our priority. The absence of strong institutions has been our national predicament which has affected negatively, policy sustainability. We appeal for more tolerance and your understanding as we embark on a quick repositioning of things for the benefit of all"

Super Eagles have a good chance of qualifying for the World Cup - Gernot Rohr
After Nigeria's 1-0 win over Tanzania, a match Nigeria should have won by 5 or 6 goals if not for the goalkeeper's heroics, Nigeria's foreign technical adviser Gernot Rohr has said he believes that the Super Eagles have a good chance of qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Nigeria needed a late goal by Kelechi Iheanacho to go past Tanzania on Saturday night in Uyo, but Rohr believes Nigeria could qualify for a sixth World Cup ahead of Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia.
“I’m happy I won my first match,” said Rohr to journalists.
“We have a good chance of qualifying for the World Cup.
“A team that failed to qualify for the AFCON need confidence and the confidence is coming back gradually.
“We played well and any team who created 12, 14 chances in a match, that tells you it’s a good team.
“We were wasteful but we will work on our finishing.” "We are a new team and just getting to know each other but I know my players have the quality to play good football,"
"We played against Tanzania who put many players behind the ball and we needed time to break them down.
“Their goalkeeper was excellent. He denied us many opportunities to score. But our quality is not in doubt.
"We had a Tanzania team with a very good goalkeeper and there was need for patience, the players had to wait for the good moment to score the goal. We want to build a team with a good defence, a good spirit, who can win games."

Brazilian authorities charge Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte with false crime report
In the wake of Rio 'robbery' fiasco, Brazilian authorities have now charged 12-time Olympic medalist US swimming star Ryan Lochte, 32, with making a false statement. Police investigation revealed that Lochte and 3 other US swimmers James Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger lied about being robbed at gunpoint when they were returning by taxi from a club in Rio.
Turns out, they actually vandalized a gas station and urinated on the walls outside and were asked to pay for it..
According to Rio Police, Lochte was charged with the crime of falsely reporting a crime and authorities have recommended the courts to issue a summons for him to be questioned. If convicted, Lochte could face between one to six months in jail, although the judge could choose to levy a fine instead.
"Once he is summoned, whether he turns up or not, the penalty is the same: one to six months' prison. If he is summoned and does not turn up to the hearing, the trial will go ahead in the accused's absence until the final sentence is given."
However, Lochte can opt to send a lawyer and does not need to appear in court. The charge is not an extraditable offense and he can't be forced to return to Brazil by American courts.

I dont know what I have done to offwnd Sports Minister Dalung - Samson Siasia
Under 23 Olympics Bronze winning coach Samson Siasia has revealed that he's bewildered by the 'standoff' between him and Sports Minister Barr. Solomon Dalung.
Siasia's social media standoff with the minister started after the coach complained of the poor treatment and financial incentives he and his players received prior to the Olympics in Rio, Brazil, which then prompted the minister to say he wasn't aware of where the team was pre-Rio and even said he will discipline the U-23 national football team coach, Samson Siasia and every other team official who took to the media to vent his or her frustration, saying they were unethical.
Siasia has now said he doesn't know the offense he committed to the minister .
“As we speak, I don’t know what I have done to offend the Minister. The whole thing is surprising”, Siasia said while in Johannesburg Airport in quotes gotten by Vanguard.
“It’s funny. When he came, he shook hands with us and after shaking the players, he asked where is the coach?. Everybody started laughing. We shook hands again and hugged” Siasia said.
“The environment before the Games was not good but we resolved to weather the storm. The players gave their best. Without necessarily singling out players, Mikel was outstanding. He not only played well, he also motivated the squad with his leadership qualities. Also, Injury did not allow us to use some other good players. Anyway, we’re grateful to win something for Nigerians who showed massive support to us”.
